Beauty Haul

I got quite a few beauty related items lately so i just thought i'd show them to you guys and also tell you what i think of them so far. Here we go!

1. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, 12€

You can't even believe how excited i was when i went into this small makeup store in Madrid and saw that they had Real Techniques. They're brushes have been all over youtube and the blogging world for ages and everyone seems to be loving them so i really wanted to try them out. Unfortunately they didn't have the buffing brush which i was most exited about but i got the Expert Face Brush instead and so far, i'm really impressed. It applies my foundation beautifully and doesn't leave any streaks, unlike the foundation brush i used like 2 years ago which completely put me off foundation brushes - until now. Seriously recommend it if you can get your hands on it!

2. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC20, 18€ for 9ml

Another product i've wanted to try out for a while which you can't get anywhere near where i live was the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I've read rave reviews on numerous blogs so i thought it must be good. So far i can't really say i love it, even if it's a good concealer. I find it accentuates my dry patches more than i'd like it too but the staying power is quite amazing. However, to me that's not actually a good thing as my foundation doesn't stay put as well so i'm just left with patches of concealer all over my face which become pretty visible. I don't think i am going to be repurchasing this.

3. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Fiji 41€ for 30ml

I really need to start buying the shade lighter than the one i think fits my skin in store when it comes to foundations. Fidji looked like the perfect match in Sephora but in daylight and even just in my bathroom mirror it really is quite a bit too dark for me. However, i absolutely love the finish and the way it feels on the skin, it's dewy without looking shiny or greasy, kind of velvety. I also like that it doesn't really feel or look too much like makeup on the skin cause if there's one thing i hate about foundations, it's when it's easily visible you're wearing them. The staying power isn't extraordinary but it fades very nicely without looking patchy. Such a shame it's too dark for me right now, and so expensive too!

4. Smashbox Photofinish light, 13€ for 12ml

When i bought this primer i really expected it to be amazing as i'd seen so many youtubers, especially missglamorazzi, talk and rave about it. This however didn't work for me at all when i tried it out, my makeup got patchy way more easily than when i didn't wear any primer underneath it. It might have ben cause my skin was a bit on the dry side at that time so i'll give it another try sometime. So far though, i really don't think it's worth the price.

5. NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler and Tiramisu, 5 € each

For the longest time, i've absolutely despised lip glosses - i associated them with being sticky and just looking unnatural. These, however, have me converted.
They feel extremely soft and creamy on the lips and give them a nice tint with a subtle shine to them which - thankfully - doesn't have any glitter to it. And oh my, do they smell delicious!
For that price, i think you really can't go wrong with these. I'll definitely have to pick up a few more shades!

6. The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil, 15€ for 200ml

On the flight to Madrid, the whole bottle of makeup remover for my face i had with me emptied into my suitcase. As the inside of my cosmetics bag is red (or was, i finally got myself to buy a new one), it stained a few of my lighter tops. Yay!
I used my eye makeup remover for my whole face for a few days but that was just way to oily so i went ahead and bought this cleansing oil from The Body Shop which i'd been eyeing for a while. I find the whole cleansing balm/oil thing really intriguing, especially as i have combination skin which gravitates more towards the drier side from time to time.
While it is a bit pricier than my usual drugstore makeup remover it is so worth the money! This makes taking your makeup off at night feel like a treatment, it smells divine and leaves your skin feeling clean without the tight feelig i get from most cleansers. Love love love this!
I recommend it to anyone as the oil really doesn't leave any residue on the skin but just helps keeping it moisturized.

These were all the things i bought, i hope you like these kind of mini reviews.

Cheers!

New in: Benefit Boi-ing

Benefit Boi-ing in #01

Every time i'm at Sephora i seem to be magically drawn to the Benefit counter. What can I say, I'm a sucker for cute packaging, and they have the most original packaging and names for their products by far.
I've been eyeing this concealer for quite a while now, so as i've recently lost my l'oréal one, i decided to splurge on something more high-end. I find that with concealers, you really do pay for quality. The drugstore concealers get the job done but they never seem to cover as much as i'd like them too, or they just look very cakey.
This concealer is supposed to be very high-coverage, so i really do have quite high expectations - we'll see if it can live up to them!

Zweibrücken - The Fashion Outlets

 Chocolates - Lindt
Vitamin E face mask, Aloe face wash, facial brush - The Body Shop
 Shorts & Sweatpants - Nike
Top, Skirt & Cardigan - All Saints

We went to this huge fashion outlet in Zweibrücken last saturday and i was amazed at how reduced the prices actually were! I did get quite a lot of things that I'm pretty excited about,so i thought I'd share with you what i bought.

The first store we went to was nike. I've always wanted a pair of those running shorts that are not too short but always found them to be too expensive-not an issue here. Usually sports shorts tend to be really short on me,not these ones!they're just the perfect length.
Same thing goes for jogging pants; the ones you find at h&m or similar shops are never long enough for my legs. These were reduced to 17€ - such a bargain!

All Saint was probably the brand I was most excited about, and rightly so. The clothes there were already extremely cheap compared to what you'd normally have to pay and they had an extra 30% on everything. I love love love the three things i got!

The Lindt store was absolutely crazy. So many different kinds of chocolat, i was in paradise.
I initially had about 10 different chocolates in my arms but ended up "only" buying these 4. Lindt is the best chocolate in my opinion, if you want something a bit more special. So freaking delicious!

I went into The Body Shop with the intention of buying a Christmas gift for my stepsister - and left with three skincare things for myself i didn't actually need. This seems to always happen when i enter any kind of body & skincare or makeup related shop. I do like the three products i got but don't find them to be mind blowing

Overall, I can only recommend this outlet, they have stores of all different price ranges and I do believe there's something for everyone!

"And if one door opens to another one closed,
I hope you keep on walking until you find the window,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
and you help somebody every chance you get."
My Wish - Rascal Flatts

This post is pretty random - I just wanted to share a few pictures I took sometime last week, and some song lyrics I'm absolutely loving at the moment.
I used to be the girl that always wore makeup - even if it meant that I'd had to get up much earlier than actually necessary, I wouldn't leave the house without something on my face.
So not wearing any makeup to school is a huge deal for me, I'm extremely insecure about my skin (thank you blemishes) and I've always felt like my eyes look awfully tired without mascara.
And I am still insecure about those things - I just don't really care anymore that people can see them. ok, I'm also just very lazy.
If I'm having a particularly bad skin day or look extra tired I will put on a bit of powder or my bronzing primer, and on the weekends I like to take my time to make myself look pretty.
The fact that I can shamelessly rub my eyes just makes it so worth it - best feeling in the world.
As these pictures were taken on a school day, I'm not wearing any makeup. Which is probably why I'm not looking directly at the camera in neither of them.
I am not trying to say that it is bad to wear makeup on a daily basis, it's just that I can't be bothered. I admire the girls in my class that seem to look put together all the time!

So enough for the makeup-talk: how beautiful are these song lyrics?!
I don't really like the actual song, but it has such an amazing meaning to it. I've been feeling a bit down lately and listening to this song always manages to give me more motivation.

I hope you had a great weekend!

Bourjois

About two weeks ago I had a bit of spare time while waiting for the boyfriend in the city, so I went into Paris 8.
I was initially looking for the Healthy Mix foundation, but they didn't have it. As i was already standing at the Bourjois counter I looked at what other things they had and picked up these two products.
Bourjois healthy balance powder in 53 light beige

I kinda bought this on a whim because none of my other powders really fit my skin tone anymore, however I actually ended up really liking it! Unlike the Maybelline 24hr powder I have, this one doesn't look cakey at all while still being quite mattifying. It doesn't offer too much coverage which is exactely what I wanted,so I can wear it on too of foundation,or on school days where I still want to have a tiny bit of make up in my face.

Bourjois bronzing primer

This was an impulse buy,I didn't even think I would like it that much but omg I freaking love this! I have to admit that the colour looks quite scary, but when you blend it out it just turns into this really nice bit of tan. I love that it's mattifying,so  you don't have to wear powder on top of it if you don't want to. I don't wear make up to school, so I find this makes me look a tad more awake and healthy and it literally takes 15 seconds to apply!

School's absolutely crazy at the moment, we have so much homework every single day and with piano, dancing and going to the gym I can't find a minute of free time on most days. Last week was horrible,I felt like i was under such huge pressure and everything was just so overwhelming. I think I just needed some time to get used to the luxembourgish school system again - it is quite different to Australia after all.

Anyways,I wish you all a great weekend and I'll try to post more next week!
