what we see depends mainly on what we look for

I could never understand why so many tourists come to Luxembourg. It seemed foolish to me that somebody would choose visiting Luxembourg when you could just as well go to Paris or Berlin.
It's only become clear to me how beautiful my country actually is after I came back from Australia. I'd say this is a typical case of "You don't know what you have until it's gone".

Well maybe not exactly, as I didn't loose Luxembourg. Still, being away for such a long time made me appreciate the little things that make my country so special. It might be small, but the landscapes are truly beautiful and the city has its charm too.

I noticed this even more when I went to the city yesterday to have lunch with my boyfriend. We wen't to a cafe called coffee lounge, where I had a a club bagel and a banana-strawberry-orange smoothie. Best lunch of this week.

Afterwards we wanted to just walk around for a bit to enjoy the lovely fall weather, but ended up staying for 3 more hours. We walked through the "Gronn", the old part of town which lies in a valley - in the middle of the city. The houses there are so beautiful and due to the river that goes through it, there's also so much nature!

I took quite a few pictures, however most of them are very pixelated or blurry - this camera is starting to really piss me off! I want to get a new one for my Birthday in November, a DSLR that isn't over a 1000 Euros. Do you have any recommendations?

  1. I've never been to Luxemburg but have seen so many posts about it lately. It looks like such a charming and sadly forgotten city. I'd love to see it one day, it seems like Paris minus the crowd, but I could be completely wrong in that assumption!

    1. Some buildings are quite similar to ones you might seem in Paris, they're kind of the same style of architecture. I love the old town, it is just so calming to walk through!
If anything, it would be a verry small Paris!
